09. April 2021, 19:00 - 12. April 2021
Livestream: Beethoven's Pastorale
Herkulessaal in der Residenz

Ludwig van Beethoven's symphonic works are undoubtedly one of the highlights of classical music. We are celebrating the jubilarian of the year 2020 now with a performance of his brilliant 6th Symphony, which was first performed in Vienna in 1808 - with surprisingly five movements instead of the usual four movements - and which opened a great window for the emerging era of Romanticism. Hector Berlioz even called this  symphony "the most beautiful of Beethoven's compositions". We will play the symphony as an online concert from the Hercules Hall in the Munich Residence. At the beginning of the concert we will present the overture to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's opera seria "La clemenza di Tito," composed only twenty years earlier.

Program:

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Ouvertüre zu "La clemenza di Tito", KV 621
Ludwig van Beethoven: Sinfonie Nr. 6 F-Dur, op. 68, "Pastorale"

Conductor: Franz Schottky

Livestream: Vivaldi's Four Seasons
Allerheiligen-Hofkirche in der Residenz
There is surely no other violin concerto in which you can hear a dog barking and birds chirping, or even a thunderstorm sweeping across the countryside. Antonio Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons" is one of the most popular works of classical music and has long been part of the regular repertoire of the Munich Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra dacapo. This season, too, the unmistakable musical annual round will be heard - as an online concert, recorded in the Allerheiligen-Hofkirche in the Munich Residenz. The solo part will be performed by Mario Korunic (violin), long-time principal violinist with the Munich Chamber Orchestra.

Program:

Antonio Vivaldi: "The Four Seasons," op. 8 nos. 1-4.
Violin: Mario Korunic
Conductor: Franz Schottky
